On August 7 local time, Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, held a collective meeting in Santiago with leaders of Chile’s ruling coalition, including those from the Broad Front, Communist Party of Chile, Socialist Party, Party for Democracy, Humanist Action Party, Regionalist Green Social Party, as well as leaders of the Christian Democratic Party.
Liu Jianchao stated that party exchanges between China and Chile are an essential part of bilateral relations, helping to promote mutual understanding of ideas, deepen political trust, and enhance mutual comprehension. Liu Jianchao provided an overview of modern Chinese history and the development of the Communist Party of China (CPC). He expressed the CPC’s willingness to strengthen interactions with all parties in Chile’s ruling coalition, engage in in-depth exchanges on governance experiences, and jointly explore development paths that suit their national conditions. He also shared key outcomes from the 20th CPC Central Committee’s third plenary session.
The party leaders highly praised China’s remarkable achievements in economic and social development, emphasizing that China is an important development partner for Chile. They expressed a desire to enhance comprehensive cooperation between the two nations. The leaders affirmed their interest in fostering dialogue with the CPC, learning from each other, and advancing the development of Chile-China relations.
Both sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues, including the Israel-Palestine conflict.
